Privacy Policy for AIFacts.co.uk
Last updated: September 2025
At AIFacts.co.uk, your privacy matters. This website is a personal project created and managed by me, Ian Edgington, a UK citizen. The site is hosted in the UK on DigitalOcean servers.
This policy explains what (little) personal information is collected when you use this website and how it is handled, in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. What Information We Collect
- No accounts, no sign-ups: You cannot register, log in, or create an account on this website.
- Automatic technical data: Like most websites, basic information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited may be logged automatically by the hosting server for security and performance purposes.
- Cookies and analytics (if used):
- If analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) are enabled, they may set cookies to help understand visitor numbers and traffic patterns.
- These do not identify you personally.
2. How We Use Information
Any data collected is used solely to:
- Keep the site secure and running smoothly.
- Monitor visitor traffic in general (not individuals).
- Improve the website’s content and performance.
I do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising.
3. Data Storage & Hosting
- The website is hosted on DigitalOcean servers in the UK.
- Server logs are retained for a limited time for troubleshooting and security.
- Reasonable technical measures are in place to keep information secure.
4. Third-Party Services
If I add third-party tools (e.g. analytics, embedded content, or social media links), they may collect limited information in line with their own privacy policies. You should review those separately.
5. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access any personal data held about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict processing of your data.
Since this site does not actively collect personal details, these rights are unlikely to be needed—but you can always contact me if you have concerns.
